Traditionally, in a music studio, the control room is conceived as a space purely meant to monitor your performance. However, in reality, it tends to be at the heart of every session. That is how we treat it.
Our control room is designed with more than simple functionality in mind. It’s a space designed for collaboration, comfort, and creativity.
Bathed in natural sunlight, outfitted with comfortable seating and a range of instruments to doodle with. Any writing implements or drinks you may need. It’s all set up to help you capture your best ideas as they come.

Need a creative recharge? Step outside. You can relax in the balcony between takes, or hop down to the garden and pool to truly freshen your mind.
You will get the best out of yourself and your performers when you (and they) are relaxed and inspired.

Decide a session time that works for you, and book it.
In the next days we'll confirm your booking, work out the details with you, and send you the relevant invoice.
For a limited time, if you pay in advance, you will earn 1 free hour for your next booking.

Once your session is confirmed we will get in contact with you to work out pre-production details, such as:
What will be recorded, specifically.
What instruments and equipment you require.
How we can arrange the studio to your liking.
What drinks or food we should have on hand for you.
Arrangement of transportation, should it be necessary.

Your session project file and all recordings will be hosted in a private Google workspace which will be permanently available to you.
You'll never need to write to ask for your files, even if you lose them. As long as you have your Google account, you have your files.
Should you prefer another delivery method for your files, it can be arranged, but we have found this to be best for your convenience.

Booking and confirmation
Just above, you’ll find our booking page which displays our availability for the next 72 days. Here’s how to book:
Select the Duration: Choose how long you need the session to be.
Pick a Date and Time: Choose your ideal date and time from the available slots.
Submit Your Booking: Once you submit, we'll check the availability and get in touch to confirm your session and discuss pre-production details.
Flexible Scheduling: If you require a session outside of our standard hours or more than 72 days in advance, please contact us before booking. We strive to accommodate your needs and are flexible with scheduling.
After Confirmation: Once your session details are confirmed, we’ll send an invoice. Pay this invoice in advance, and you’ll receive an extra hour free for your next booking.
Pre-production
Pre-production is all about tailoring the session to your specific needs and desires, from the basic to the intricate. Here’s what we cover to ensure your session is exactly as you envision:
Instruments and Parts: Determining which instruments and parts will be recorded.
Equipment and Accessories: Identifying any special equipment or accessories needed to enhance your performance.
Session Structure: Outlining how you would like your session to be structured.
Technical Setup: Setting the DAW choice, sample rate, and other technical specifics.
Recording Preferences: Deciding on the style of recording—whether full takes, sectional, looping, or punch-ins.
Studio Environment: Adjusting the studio environment to best suit your performance needs.
Comforts and Conveniences: Selecting drinks and food to have on hand, arranging transportation if necessary, and any other comforts we can facilitate for you.
We believe that comfort and inspiration are crucial to capturing a compelling performance, so we are committed to doing whatever it takes to make your session flow smoothly.
If you’d rather not get involved with the details, that’s perfectly fine too. We understand that some artists prefer to focus solely on their performance, and we are fully prepared to handle the details to ensure everything is set when you arrive.

While the first four steps are straightforward, we’d like to expand on the optional fifth step to help you understand the additional value it offers.
Standard Recording Session: In a standard recording session, our role is to capture your performance with the highest fidelity possible. We’ll work with you to achieve the best sound at the source, making adjustments for EQ and compression as needed, and even applying live effects like delay and reverb if it enhances your performance. Our focus during these sessions is on serving your vision and ideas without intervening too much in the signal chain or imposing our creative direction.
Optional Production Service: Choosing our production service means you want to leave with a track that’s not only recorded but also polished and creatively enhanced, ready for mixing. Here’s what sets it apart:
Structural Suggestions: We provide guidance on structuring vocal or instrumental parts, including additional melodies, harmonies, ad-libs, chords, double tracking, or other suggestions, to enhance the overall arrangement of the song.
Creative Input: We collaborate closely with you to add layers of creative input. This includes advanced EQing, compression, and automation to refine each element of your track and make them sound like you imagined.
Additional Instrumentation: We can incorporate software instruments or enlist studio-contracted musicians to add new layers to your music, expanding beyond your own performances to enhance the richness and depth of your tracks.
Detailed Effects Work: Beyond basic effects, we delve into complex processing, using advanced sampling techniques and custom-built effects to transform your recordings. This could involve creating unique vocal chops, intricate soundscapes, and other innovative sound design elements.
This service is ideal for artists looking to push their recordings to the next level, incorporating professional production techniques and creative ideas that serve the song’s vision. Whether it's enhancing the dynamics, creating intricate sound textures, or reimagining parts of your performance, our production service is designed to bring your music to life in new and exciting ways.
Deliverables
Your session project file and all recordings will be hosted in a private Google workspace which will be permanently available to you.
You'll never need to write to ask for your files, even if you lose them. As long as you have your Google account, you have your files.
By default, we will deliver your session file as is, and additionally deliver your individual recording files in a sample rate of 48,000 Hz with a bit depth of 24 bits.
Should you wish to adjust any of these delivery details, please make it clear when booking your session, or before session start. We cannot change sample rate or bit depth after the fact.
Cancellation and Refund Policies
We strive to be as flexible as possible. We understand that many things can get in the way of our agreed-upon time for sessions and we don’t think this should represent an obstacle to your music making process.
If you need to reschedule, please get in contact and we’ll make new plans for a different session time which will suit you better.
If you have already paid your invoice, we will refund you in full, except in the case that we have pre-arranged third party services for the session (such as hiring of studio musicians, rental of instruments or equipment, catering, transportation, etc). In these cases, the hourly cost of sessions will be refunded, but we cannot guarantee a refund of third party expenses.
